Telkom's HomeOffice LTE offer promises twice the speed and three times the quality of standard 3G services. The company is so confident on its ability to offer a great experience, it guarantees it or you get your money back, no questions asked.
Telkom has good reason to be confident about the claim. Firstly, the company's LTE network was built on allocated 2300 MHz spectrum and therefore did not require refarming of some of its existing mobile technology spectrum. The 2300 MHz implementation also enables asymmetrical allocation of air interface resources which is efficiently matched to support data services. Telkom also has a total of 60MHz of this spectrum which enables the delivery of far higher capacity per sector than any other local operator.
Download speeds of Telkom's HomeOffice LTE typically range from 20Mbps to 50Mbps although peak speeds can go as high as 90Mbps. Upload speeds range from 5Mps to 10Mbps with peak speeds of 25Mbps. This translates to a fast, smooth user experience free of buffering or stuttering.
Over 700 currently active LTE sites have been deployed nationally with a focus on the major metros. A further 300 sites are currently being integrated into the network nationally for further support. Many of these are located in areas where there has been rapid development that has yet to be serviced by fixed line options. This makes Telkom LTE an ideal alternative in areas where ADSL is not available.
Not only is LTE a broadband fixed-line-look-alike for areas without cable or where cable theft has interrupted service, it has the added benefit of mobility for those who require fast download speeds on the go. So as the year-end holiday season approaches there is no reason to forfeit the fast internet experience one is accustomed to at home.
The second reason for the company's confidence in its Home Office LTE is the customer purchase experience journey that forms part of the sales cycle. Before selling the product to a customer Telkom not only checks for coverage, but tests it as well. Once good coverage has been confirmed, a field expert will visit the customer’s home to advise on the best set up. The device is delivered to the customer's door and installed by the field agent.
Fast quality Internet access has become one of the most desired commodities by various family members in the home. Telkom's Home Office LTE enables up to 32 wireless connections and four LAN connections. So while one person works in a home office others could be sharing cooking lessons real time with friends in Europe over Skype or doing research for homework and later play video games on line from different rooms or download music videos.
To subscribe to HomeOffice LTE customers can SMS "speed" to 32565 and they will be contacted by an agent. Alternatively, they can visit a Telkom store or sign up on the Telkom Mobile website.
HomeOffice LTE is just one of the many mobile broadband products catering to the diverse needs of people available from Telkom.
Customers can check for LTE coverage in their area by sending an SMS with their address to 43482 or checking the coverage map on the Telkom Mobile website.
